Sue Zywokarte

Sue is a talented artist with many hats such as skills with pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, watercolor, acrylic, crocheting, beadwork, and various types of printmaking. She enjoys sketching various inanimate objects in her artwork and “giving them a life of their own.” She also enjoys depicting trees, plants, and sunsets into her artwork.

Sue took both a drawing course and a printmaking course at Northern Virginia Community College to hone her skills. For the past 3 years she has taken acrylic painting classes from the Reston Community Center.

She attributes her focus on artwork extremely helpful to her recovery. 

“It helps me get out of myself,” She explained. “Being able to transcend fear and sadness to create a work of art has given me a lot of hope.”
